Job Specifications
Title: Roastery Assistant and Production Roaster
Location: Glen Lyon Coffee Roasters, Dunkeld Road, Aberfeldy, PH15 2PP
Terms: Four to five days a week, 24 to 32 hours weekly.
Contract: Permanent and subject to a six-month probationary period.
Salary: Experience-based. Glen Lyon Coffee is a Living Wage Employer.
Start Date: September, 2025.
Experience: Relevant experience is preferred but not required. All training is provided.

Overview
The Roastery Assistant role is an integral part of the Glen Lyon Coffee team, helping to ensure that the production side of the business runs smoothly and efficiently in a fast paced environment. The role includes packing coffee, support with dispatch and helping to manage the constantly seasonal portfolio of green coffee beans from different origin countries and keeping the production area of the roastery clean and tidy. The Trainee Production Roaster role includes learning to roast our espresso beans, blending coffee as well as quality control cupping.
Requirements and Competencies
- Experience and passion for speciality coffee as well as Glen Lyon Coffee Roasters
- Physically fit and able to lift coffee around the production area of the Roastery
- Driven and capable of working under your own initiative
- Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines whilst remaining approachable and in control
- Able to integrate seamlessly into the team and to communicate clearly
